All courses are delivered by teaching staff employed by LaSalle Catholic College, teachers/trainers are fully accredited and experienced Industry trainers. In addition, LaSalle Catholic College supplies the facilities, machinery, tools, equipment and materials. Courses are monitored by the Head of Trade Training and VET, students can expect access to competency documentation and progress reports upon request, the Trade Training Centre will submit student’s achievement of competencies NESA and will issue a report each semester on student progress, these are sent to the student’s VET coordinator at their schools. Where required the Trade Training Centre in collaboration with LaSalle Catholic College will also distribute N warning letters, these are also sent directly to the student’s home school as well as the student.
In 2024 all VET courses will be delivered via block delivery, from 1:30 to 5:30pm Monday to Wednesday, 12.45 – 4.45pm Thursday or mornings from 7:00 – 11:00am. All Year 11 and 12 VET courses have been timetabled in period 5 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and in sport time on Thursdays. This arrangement allows both LaSalle Catholic College students and students from other Catholic Colleges to undertake these courses.
Students can also elect to start working 1-2 days a week while still doing the HSC. In this instance, students will need to take part in the Industry-Based Learning (IBL) class. The students in this class follow a set pattern of study.
